Dance for Joy SWFL was formed to develop and teach partner dance programs throughout Southwest Florida, delivering physical, mental, social and emotional benefits to those who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to experience them.

The mission of our pilot program, Dancing Classrooms, is to cultivate essential life skills through the power of social dance in school aged children. Dancing Classrooms offers young people the opportunity to thrive and engage in the joy, discipline and teamwork of social dance.

Through a 10 week in school residency for fifth graders, taught by trained and certified Teaching Artists, the program teaches social dance to promote inclusivity, teamwork, respect and compassion.
